Sexual health includes avoiding disease or unplanned pregnancy, but is also includes enjoying and embracing your sexuality throughout your lives in a healthy manner.

Being sexually active comes with many responsibilities, including practicing safe sex. Safe sex is sexual activity in which people take precautions to protect themselves against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) such as AIDS.

There are many STDs that one can acquire from sexual activity. Here are some of the most common STDs:

  • HPV (Human Papillomavirus)
  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea
  • Syphilis
  • Herpes
  • Trichomoniasis

In order to be tested for STDs, a physical examination from a health care provider is required. There are also STD testing facilities in your area.
